So I’ve neglected reporting here for a while on racing. Since Syllamo’s Revenge I’ve raced:
- Berryman Offroad Duathlon (3rd 6 hour individual)
- Greensfelder Challenge (XC: 11th)
- Middlefork Non-Race (XC: 10th)
- Lost Valley (XC: 9th)
- Broemmelsiek (XC: 11th)
- Sac River (Springfield) (Marathon: 9th)
- and last but not least, the Alpine Shop Dirt Crits (see the Offroad Racing League)
Berryman Duo worked out fairly well, but my running form has been off all year. Just this week I went running and found myself in such a bad way so I’m going to dial it back to basics (2 – 3 mile runs, working on pace, increasing frequency). For the race I got in 3 laps on a hot day.
The cross country races have been much of the same formula. The fast guys drop me at the start and then I try to bring in the best time possible. These Cat 2/sport guys are no joke. For the Sac River race I decided to try the marathon division to spice things up and to prep for upcoming 6 hour races.
And this past month has been about the dirt crits (short track racing). These are a blast!
